BUFFALO, NY (November 1, 2007) - The Recovery Center, located in the village of Monticello, is marking over 20 years of commitment to Sullivan County residents in providing prevention, treatment, and recovery services for those experiencing a problem with alcohol and other drugs, tobacco and gambling. The Chief Executive Officer Michael Ballester says that the "focus of Recovery Center is to work with all aspects of the community to provide the very best and most cost effective programs, which address each individual’s needs and helps restore individuals to themselves, their families and the community." Services include a 16-bed Crisis Services Unit, a 30-bed Community Residence, housing assistance, extensive Community Prevention Services and several components of Adult and Adolescent Day Rehabilitation Programs.
In an effort to provide the most effective treatment, The Recovery Center has been working with Celerity LLC to install Clinical Addictions Manager (CAM), a software program designed to manage patient history and treatment records more effectively and efficiently than conventional provider practices. Celerity’s President and CEO, Peter Labaki, states, "Helping the Recovery Center save lives is what matters most, we consider it a privilege to work with such a fine facility."
The Recovery Center was instituted by the Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse of Sullivan County, Inc. in 1985. Other programs that have developed over the years include: Evening Outpatient Clinic; Family Services; Safe Summer Camp; Professional Training; Gambling prevention and treatment; Vocational Services and HIV/AIDS Outreach and Support. The ability to change and respond to the needs of the community has been essential and incorporating electronic records management protects our clients’ privacy and will help bring the agency into the future of human service provision.
