Celerity LLC announces Albany Citizens Council on Alcoholism and other Chemical Dependencies, Inc., a private not-for-profit treatment, housing, and prevention center as a new partner. Celerity is the leading provider of Electronic Clinical Record (ECR) applications and information management for service providers of the clinical addictions and chemical dependency treatment industry. Albany Citizens Council (ACCA) chose Celerity technology as a solution to execute their mission of saving lives and pursue their commitment to improve patient information management and increase patient care time.
Former commissioner of OASAS (New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services), Shari Noonan, is now the CEO of Albany Citizens Council, who supports the technology solution that Celerity developed. "Celerity was built with chemical dependency in mind from the ground up and it includes the regulations that we deal with day to day," said Ms. Noonan. "Our industry has a long way to go when it comes to IT. This program is going to be a great help to our staff and I like that it’s web-based, which is convenient and keeps up front costs down," added Shari Noonan.
Celerity’s Clinical Addictions Manager© (CAM) has been specifically designed by clinicians for clinicians. Celerity’s Electronic Clinical Record, CAM, will manage patient history and treatment records more effectively and efficiently than conventional provider practices. "The goal of our program is to reduce time spent with paper management and increase time for chemical dependency clinicians to help their patients and focus on their mission of saving lives," said Peter Labaki, president of Celerity. Celerity engaged several staff members from the Albany Citizens Council to work with them on the pilot program phase of CAM.
Celerity’s Clinical Addictions Manager© (CAM) has been implemented in 2 states - New York and Florida. Albany Citizens Council is the first chemical dependency facility in NY to use the program. "Celerity’s CAM is serving us well," stated Dr. John Pitselos, Clinical Director of Recovery First, Hollywood, Florida. "It is extremely well organized clinically and is a superb and easy to use tool for any clinician in terms of Quality Control, compliance and security of information," Dr. Pitselos added.
Celerity was founded in 2005 by Peter S. Labaki, who serves as its president and CEO. Labaki, a 1995 graduate of SUNY Buffalo, secured an agreement with a unit of his alma mater, partnering with SUNY Buffalo's Research Institute on Addictions to develop Clinical Addictions Manager (CAM).
